Biography

Young Danish Soprano Simone Victor was discovered at only twelve years old by the Royal Danish Opera singer Bonna Søndberg, with whom she began taking private lessons. Ms. Victor has continued to study privately ever since, mainly with international voice teachers. She has been working with bel canto specialist Ken Querns Langley for the last four years.

This December Ms. Victor will sing Gilda in a third act performance of Verdi’s Rigoletto in Copenhagen, and in March 2019 she will sing the soprano soloist part in Brahms Ein Deutches Requiem in the Holy Spirit Church, also in Copenhagen. Later in august 2019 she will sing the Title Role in Bellini’s Beatrice di Tenda, with the London Bel Canto Festival, in London.

In August 2018, Ms. Victor performed a solo recital with pianist Ulrich Stærk, with whom she performs regularly, at the Ålborg Opera Festival. Directly afterwards she made her Cadogan Hall debut in London with the London Bel Canto Festival, as a young artist chosen to sing, alongside the legendary soprano, Aprile Millo. Recently she has performed as soloist in numerous concerts around Europe including Copenhagen, London, Busseto, Modena and Milan. To point out a few, she sang at the Copenhagen Pride with orchestra at the city square, and at an exclusive recital in the Casa Verdi in Milan.

In 2017, she sang the role of Manja in Kálmáns Gräfin Maritza with the company, “Polyhymnia” at Hofteatret in Copenhagen. Ms. Victor then spent the month of July in master class with soprano Mirella Freni at the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti di Modena, and in August 2017 she first took part in the London Bel Canto Festival as a featured Young Artist, where she performed her London debut recital. While at the festival, she worked closely with tenor Bruce Ford, soprano Nelly Miricioiu, Maestro David Parry, and Roberto Bertuzzi from La Fenice. At the 2017 Copenhagen Opera Festival Ms. Victor worked intensively in master class with Gregory Lamar and performed in the “Star Shaping” concert. In 2016 she studied with Maestro Richard Bonynge and Aprile Millo at the Operavision Academy summer program in Busseto, Italy

Ms. Victor has performed well in competitions, and in 2015 she won the Audience Prize in the most prestigious singing competition in Denmark “Operaens venner”. She also won the Funen Operaprize in the competition, “Unge sangere” in 2014, and First Prize and the Talent Prize in the competition, “Unge spiller klassisk” in 2012.

She is currently finishing preparations on the roles of Lucia (Donizetti) and Violetta (Verdi) alongside other coloratura soprano roles.
