Biography

Alejandro López is Mexican bass. His recently engagements include debuts at Teatro de la Zarzuela of Madrid as El juez (La tempestad), and Opera las Palmas as Timur (Turandot). He had his French and Italian debut at Opera National de Lorraine as Il Re (Aida), and Teatro dell’Opera Giocosa as Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia). He also sang Lodovico(Otello)at Palacio de Bellas Artes, and debuted at Teatro Petruzzelli, Bari, as Colline (La Boheme).
 
He was a member of the Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo at the Palau de les Arts, Valencia (2015-2017). In Valencia, his roles have included Il Re (Aida), Abimelech (Samson et Dalila), Don Apostolo Gazzella (Lucrezia Borgia), Le Balli (Werther), Doctor Grenvil (La Traviata), La voce di Nettuno (Idomeneo), Bass/A voice/ Un heraut/Paisà in Honegger’s Jeanne d’Arc and Ancelotti (Tosca).
 
In his native Mexico, he has performed Lodovico (Otello), Colline (La boheme), Timur (Turandot), Monterone (Rigoletto), High Priest of Baal (Nabucco) and Cesare Szrzapariglia inDonizetti’s Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, México City. He also performed Colline at the Felipe Villanueva Hall.
 
In his concert career, he performed Rossini’s Stabat Mater at the Sala Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico City, and a programme of Schumann Lieder with Roger Vignoles at the Palau de les Arts, Valencia.
 
He was a member of the Studio at Ópera de Bellas Artes, Mexico and studied at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música de México.
