Biography

In 2019, Gloria won the Second Prize at the International Singing Competition Triomphe de l’Art in Brussels and was invited to be among the three first Young Singers of the new Young Artist Program of the Royal Danish Opera House for the seasons 2020/21 and 2021/22 where, among other projects, she will perform in Mozart’s The Magic Flute in Barrie Kosky’s staging as The Queen of the Night.
 
Her other upcoming an recent engagements include Praskovya Ossipovna (Shostakovich’s The Nose) at The Royal Danish Opera, The Merry Widow 2.0 – Olga, Un ballo in Maschera Oscar, opera workshops with Hamlet, Le Dialogue des Carmelites, Der Rosenkavalier, Rinaldo, Le Grand Macabre. Also, New Year Gala concerts with Haydn Foundation of Bozano and Triento, Open air concerts and Christmas concerts, as well as Recital at the Royal Danish Opera.
 
Gina Gloria Tronel grew up in a musical family and began her musical studies at the Jacques Thibaud Conservatory in Bordeaux, France. From an early age, she studied piano, classical dance, music and sang in the children's choir of the Opera National de Bordeaux. These experiences naturally oriented her towards the learning of lyrical art, initially initiated by Mrs. Elena Vassilieva in Paris.
 
In 2017, she obtained her Master’s degree with the highest distinctions from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, Belgium. In September 2018 she made her debut in the role of Jemmy in Guillaume Tell by G. Rossini in Switzerland and continued the year by joining the European Opera Academy in Florence, Italy where she performed part of The Queen of the Night for a performance of The Magic Flute for children at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino to conclude her traineeship. Gloria was invited by Holland Opera to sing for the Koningsdag celebration in front of the Royal Family of The Netherlands in April 2019. After this performance, she was invited to tour with the production of Opera2Day/The National Theater for the play by Peter Schaffer Amadeus, directed by Theu Boermans in The Netherlands, where she played the part of Katherina Cavalieri.
 
In parallel with her Master's studies at the National University of Music Bucharest and later at The Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, Gina Gloria Tronel started a collaboration with the Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca where she performed the part of the Booted Cat in the children's opera The Booted Cat of the Romanian composer Cornel Trailescu. Among her other projects, she gave numerous concerts in Romania but also in Paris, Bordeaux, Berlin. She performed the Soprano solo part in Mozart’s Requiem and Bach‘s B minor Mass in Oltenia Philharmonic Craiova with conductor and organist Gianluigi Zampieri.
 
From 2015 she collaborated with the Comic Opera of Bucharest, where she performed roles such as The Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte­), Despina (Cosi fan tutte), Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), and Madame Herz (Der Schauspieldirektor).
