Biography

Lianghua Gong was born in 1983 in XinYu, (Republic of China). From 2001 to 2005 he attended the GuangXi Art College, where he majored in singing. After studying the German language, he took up vocal studies at the University of the Arts in Berlin in 2007 with Prof. Robert Gambill. Since 2008 he is a scholarship holder of the Paul Hindemith Society e.V., Berlin.
 
His recent and future engagements include Don Ottavio (Don Giovani) in Grand Opera Avignon and Don Ramiro (Cenerentola) in the Immling Festival.
 
From 2019 to 2021, Lianghua Gong was invited by Opera Gdansk (Poland) as Carlino in Bucefalo and Il conte Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
 
From 2016 to 2017 Lianghua Gong traveled as Marqui von Chateauneuf from Zar und Zimmermann with Detmold Landestheater from Germany to Switzerland.
 
From the season 2012/13 to 2019 Lianghua Gong is a member of the ensemble at the Theater Bielefeld and is there as High Priest in Saul by Handel, Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola by Rossini, Dorvil in the La scala di seta by Rossini, Tamino in Mozart's The Magic Flute and Nemorino in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore.
 
In 2009, he began his engagement with the role of Physician in The Fall of the House of Usher by Philip Glass at the New Palace of Sanssouci Potsdam, directed by Achim Freyer and music director Michael Sanderling, and one month later he celebrated his first great engagement in the National Opera Athens as The Duke Bertrando from L'inganno felice by Rossini. In January 2010 in the Berlin Philharmonic (Zentralsall) he gladly released his solo concert with the Berliner Symphoniker.
 
From 2011 he was hired as a young talent by the Musikverein Graz in Austria. There he sang Edoardo in La cambiale di matrimonio by Rossini with L'Orfeo Baroque Orchestra, Peppe in Rita by Donizetti (Director Peter Patzak), and in 2012 he performed Mozart’s Requiem with Maestro Adam Fischer and Ochester Graz Philharmonic.
 
Lianghua Gong received numerous awards first in pop vocals, later in classical singing as 2004 Yiyuan Bei first prize, solo concert in Nanning and 1st prize at the International Singing Competition Klassik-Mania 2010 in Vienna.
